Crock-pot Homemade Cider Recipe

Ingredients 

  • 10 cups water
  • 4-5 large apples, cut in quarters
  • 2 fresh pears, sliced
  • 2 fresh oranges, sliced or quartered
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 anise stars
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or raw honey
  • 1/2 cup fresh pomegranate, seeds only
  • 1 fresh lemon or lime, sliced

Instructions 

  • Combine all ingredients in the bowl of your slow cooker.
  • Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or on HIGH for about 4 hours.
  • Once cooked, pour the liquid through a fine strainer to remove spices and fruit pieces.
  • Garnish with fresh fruit (like orange and apple slices and pomegranate seeds) and serve warm.
