I love including protein and healthy fat in our snacks, treats, and desserts because both protein and fat are very satisfying macronutrients.
When we feel nicely satisfied, we’re less likely to overeat.
Make a batch and set them in the fridge for quick treats all week!
-> I used “Just Ingredients” protein powder in chocolate for these.
Why is the Just Ingredients Protein Powder & collagen our FAVORITE option?
The protein comes from 5 sources: 100% super high-quality grass-fed whey, pea protein, pumpkin seed, chia seeds and collagen. There is a lot less whey compared to normal protein powders so it may be easier on the stomach than other protein powders!
• Free from sugar, gluten, artificial sweeteners or any artificial ingredients.

When was the last time you had a date?
Medjool dates are a nutrient-rich food that provides a range of health benefits due to their richness in essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
Here are some of my favorite nutritional benefits of Medjool dates:
🍯Natural Sweetness and Energy: Medjool dates are a natural source of sweetness and energy, making them an excellent alternative to refined sugars.
🌾Rich in Fiber: Medjool dates are an excellent source of dietary fiber, containing both soluble and insoluble fiber. Fiber helps promote digestive health, supports healthy blood sugar levels, and can even help with weight management.
🛡️Antioxidant Properties: Medjool dates contain a range of antioxidants, including flavonoids, phenolic acids, and carotenoids. These antioxidants help protect the body against free radicals, which can contribute to chronic diseases like cancer, heart disease, and neurodegenerative disorders.
💎Mineral-Rich: Medjool dates are a good source of essential minerals like potassium, copper, iron, and magnesium. These minerals play critical roles in maintaining healthy blood pressure, supporting immune function, and promoting bone health.
🦠Supports Healthy Digestion: Medjool dates contain prebiotic fiber, which helps feed the good bacteria in the gut, supporting a healthy gut microbiome.
❤️May Help Lower Cholesterol: The fiber, potassium, and antioxidants in Medjool dates may help support heart health by reducing inflammation, improving blood lipid profiles, and lowering blood pressure.
🦴 Supports Bone Health: Medjool dates are a good source of several minerals, including copper, magnesium, and selenium, which are essential for maintaining strong bones.
🩸May Help Regulate Blood Sugar: The fiber and antioxidants in Medjool dates may help slow down the absorption of sugar and improve insulin sensitivity.
⚖️Supports Healthy Weight: Medjool dates are low in calories and high in fiber, making them a nutritious addition to your lifestyle.
🧠Brain Health: Medjool dates contain a range of nutrients and antioxidants that may help support cognitive function and reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases.
Medjool dates are a nutritious and delicious addition to a healthy diet. They provide a range of essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that can support overall health and well-being.
🍫Cacao vs. Cocoa
Although they are both completely interchangeable in recipes, they are each processed differently.
Cacao is the purest form of chocolate. It’s an excellent source of antioxidants and has a high number of flavonoids. Cacao is higher in protein, fiber, magnesium, and iron than its cousin cocoa.
If all you have on hand is cocoa powder, then that’s fine to use.
When you have a choice at the grocery store, reach for the lesser processed raw cacao to take advantage of its awesome health benefits in all of your homemade treats!
What’s the difference between cocoa and cacao?
