Clean Food Love

Meet Staci, Who Lost 10 Pounds and 7 Inches with CleanFoodCrush!

Hi, my name is Staci.  I am from the great state of TX, I am 44 years old.  I have been married for 23 years and have 3 amazing daughters.  I work as a commercial lines insurance underwriter.  My absolute favorite thing is vacationing with my family.  This summer all 5 of us went to Florida for a week, I and my youngest daughter went to NYC for a few days.  My husband and I love to go to Vegas together.  I also enjoy working out, shopping with my girls, spending time outdoors, swimming, and hiking when the weather cools off.

I have been following Rachel a year now.  I started with just buying her recipe books online because they were healthy and so tasty.  My family loved every single one we cooked!

I decided to finally do the 30-Day Clean Eating Challenge that I had been avoiding just to see if it would actually curb my cravings.

I love eating sweets, specifically baked goods and chocolate and I desperately wanted the cravings to go away.

I also had just gotten blood work done and decided I needed to make a change.  Diabetes runs in my family so I started seeing a functional medicine Dr and taking supplements to hopefully avoid issues.  I knew though that I needed to do more than this.  I needed to make a lifestyle change with food choices.

I was super skeptical because I’ve done gym challenges before where I was successful and they were awful to get through and when a challenge was complete, back on the weight came.

I have seen nutritionists but honestly felt I knew more than them and had zero results!

I have always worked out too with little to no success with weight loss even when doing CrossFit 3-5 days a week.

I think what pushed me to finally commit to the 30-Day Clean Eating Challenge was my trust in Rachel and the variety of food.

Well, Let Me Tell You This Challenge was Seriously the Best Decision!!

Week one was hard but I made up my mind before I started the Challenge that I absolutely would not cheat AT ALL!

At the End of Week One:

  • I had lost 6 lbs
  • I was sleeping better
  • I was waking up with a clearer mind
  • I was overall so motivated
  • I had ZERO cravings!

By Week 2:

  • I started working out again
  • I was able to work out so much easier
  • I felt stronger and had more endurance.
  • The food choices beyond week 1 are so satisfying too so I didn’t even think about cheating.

By Week 3

  • All of my joint pain and aches went away!
  • My head felt clearer and I am usually not a morning person but I was waking up and not even needing the coffee!

One thing to add about coffee is that my entire adult life I have been addicted to Coffeemate. Well during this 30-Day Clean Eating Challenge I have switched to using only some cashew milk and a few drops of Stevia, and I enjoy it very much and  I do not even miss the Coffeemate!

Also, I used to have a Diet Coke every day.  No more! And I don’t crave them, either.

By Week 4

  • My clothes fit different
  • I was down 8 lbs!!
  • My workouts continued to be more and more productive and felt amazing.
  • I have energy all day!

Also, I walk early with my sister and cousins 3 days a week at the track.  I’ve always wanted to be a jogger who could jog without getting so winded… So I decided to challenge myself to jog and see how I felt.

Amazingly enough; at the end of week 4, I jogged a mile without stopping and felt like I could do more!! So I have now added this to my workouts.  Very exciting for me as even 5 years ago when I was very involved in CrossFit I could not do the running at all without feeling like I was dying.

At the end of my Challenge, I lost 10 lbs and 7 inches!!

I went back to the doctor for a checkup and she was so happy with my progress.  I’ll do bloodwork next month and can’t wait to see the difference!  I will also add I started cooking the same dinner from Rachel’s recipes for everyone in my family starting week 2 and they have been a hit.  It feels so good to feed them healthy and always have veggies and fruits around instead of junk.  I mean don’t get me wrong I still let them have their cookies, and ice cream, I just don’t crave them at all!

My two favorite recipes are:

  • Blender Oatmeal Muffins. I was so surprised at how good these were I felt like I was cheating when I made them!!
  • Sweet & Spicy chicken – just YUM!! My entire family loved this recipe.

I cannot say enough positive things about this Challenge.

It has changed my life and I only regret not doing it sooner!  I feel so empowered to keep going, and I have continued to lose weight beyond week 4.  I honestly feel so motivated, and I cannot believe the results I feel physically, psychologically and emotionally in just 30 days?!?!

My advice when starting this 30-Day Clean Eating Challenge is to Prepare your mind, and your kitchen!  Think about what you are facing the week you start and plan for success.

Meal prep is KEY for success and honestly continues to be for me.  I also chose to only work out once during the first week because I knew I would be tired and all the prepping and discipline required for success is what I wanted to focus on.

Another important thing is give yourself Grace!  Do not go through this condemning yourself or you won’t be successful, only frustrated.
