Hi 🙂
My name is Kristen Bailey and I am 33 years old. I’m excited to share my story with you of how I transformed with the help of CleanFoodCrush and the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge…
I have a wonderful, supportive husband and a 19 month old daughter at home. Those two are my motivation to live as healthy as I can. I’m also a registered nurse, and within the last 2 years I turned in my stethoscope to do case management. I now ride a desk at an insurance company for the near future until I’m able to work from home.
My free time at home is spent with my husband and daughter. We love going on mini-excursions and seeing new things. Weekends in the summer are spent enjoying our local farmers market and we also go on family walks every day.
I love to read and love the occasional day on the couch snuggled up with my baby watching Disney movies.
I have always been overweight. One of my biggest hurdles is overeating and eating out of boredom.
I also used to love the food that was the worst for me. My morning would start with a large diet soda and typically end the same way.
My small family also ate many meals outside of our home. To combat my weight problems I have yo-yo dieted since I was 18 years old. You may be able to relate to this.
I would lose 50+ pounds and then put them back on. I did this countless times over the years, but always found myself returning to old habits. I never changed my lifestyle; I just did the diet of the month.
I have counted calories, points and carbs.
I have juiced, fasted and given up meat.
In the end I always failed for one reason or another.
I joined the Cleanfoodcrush Facebook group many months prior to doing the challenge. This was me before I took the leap 🙂
I was a silent observer for a while and soon gained some confidence to ask questions. In mid September 2016 I began dieting once again. I was attempting to eat as clean as I could, but mostly I was just fad dieting. I lost and kept off about 14 pounds but in December 2016 my mother in law asked me if I would be interested in doing the CleanFoodCrush 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge that’s run monthly. I jumped at the chance and haven’t turned back since!
Since starting the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge I have lost 20 pounds and 23.25 inches (8 of which from my waist!).
- On December 2nd, 2016 I started the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge. Since then I have lost 20 pounds and 23.23 inches (8 of which from my waist!).
- I survived Christmas and a 3 week plateau. During that time I also began working out daily.
- I was able to fit into jeans 2 sizes smaller and most of my tops are too baggy.
- A huge moment for me was having an orange after going through the sugar detox. I almost had to stop eating it because it tasted so sweet and I was no longer used to that!
Changing the way my taste-buds responded to sugar was a huge victory, that’s more than half the battle in beating cravings.
Along with amazing physical changes, my pantry has changed as well.
My husband and daughter have embraced the food I prepare and my husband does the best he can as a stay at home father. He still has a bit to learn yet, but overall my family eats very clean. We have experimented with new recipes and even a few desserts!
I no longer worry about how many calories I eat, but instead I consider how many vegetables I’m eating. I struggle with my vegetables, but I’m getting better every day.
My Advice for Anyone Thinking of Starting the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge
If you want to learn how good your body can feel just by eating healthy delicious foods then this is the way to go. It’s helped me so much, I have now become an annual member.
The monthly challenge taught me the basics by doing it. I’m living a clean lifestyle and no longer have to worry about my “dietâ€. I eat healthy and one of the many side effects has been weight loss.
