Linda Finds Health and Confidence with Little Black Dress

Today we’re showcasing Linda, a retired teacher from mid-Missouri, known as the Show-Me State, who recently found a new sense of health and empowerment through the CleanFoodCrush Little Black Dress 2.0 Challenge. Determined to make a change, she started the program in August 2024.

Over the next seven weeks, she shed 11 pounds and nine inches, while her BMI dropped from 28.7 to 26.7. Now, with her birthday around the corner, Linda feels healthier, more confident, and ready to share her story in her own words.

Hello I’m Linda from the Show-Me State

I’ve always been curious about clean eating, but finding a program that really works can be a challenge. 

When I started the Little Black Dress 2.0 Challenge on August 11, 2024, I was hopeful but unsure. 

Could this program truly make a difference? 

Thankfully, the answer was a resounding yes! 

🎉In those seven weeks, I lost 11 pounds and nine inches.🎉 

And best of all, I achieved this just in time to celebrate my 66th birthday, feeling lighter and healthier.

One of the best parts of this journey was the support I had from my husband. We’ve been married for 48 years, and he was right there with me, cheering me on and even joining in by eating the same dinners and helping me search for clean ingredients. 

Having his support made all the difference, especially when I needed an extra boost of motivation.

 For example, breakfast has always been my favorite meal, and the CleanFoodCrush Breakfast Protein Smoothies quickly became my go-to. Not only did they keep me full, but they were also delicious and gave me a great start to the day.

But if I’m being honest, my biggest challenge before CleanFoodCrush was dinner prep in the evenings.

After a long day, it’s easy to turn to quick, unhealthy meals. So I knew planning ahead was crucial if I wanted to avoid the cycle of stress-eating. 

The 28-day grocery list that came with the program was invaluable, ensuring I had every ingredient I needed. With everything on hand, I could prepare my meals ahead of time, keeping dinnertime smooth and stress-free.

The Little Black Dress Challenge didn’t just help me lose weight; it transformed how I approached food and meal prep.

Each step of the program introduced me to new clean eating strategies that made a lasting impact. Preparing what I could in advance kept me on track, and the structure helped me feel in control and organized.

An unexpected benefit from the program was the confidence I gained. I’ve always thought of myself as a strong woman, but I was never able to get disciplined enough to lose the weight that had been nagging at me.

Committing to this goal and seeing it through reminded me of my strength and dedication. I felt empowered by this experience, and I know this mindset shift will stay with me long after the challenge.

The Little Black Dress Challenge also introduced me to the CleanFoodCrush private Facebook group, which was such an encouraging part of my journey. 

Sharing my progress and celebrating small victories in the group was both motivating and rewarding.

One trick I found particularly helpful was hanging my little black dress in a prominent spot in the kitchen. Every time I looked at it, I felt inspired to make the choices that would help me wear it proudly.

And I did!

I wore it just 28 days after beginning this life-changing journey.

Going forward, I plan to stick with the clean eating habits I’ve developed.

Portion control is something I’m committed to, as well as including a variety of vegetables in each meal, especially cruciferous ones.

Clean eating has become a lifestyle, and I’m excited to keep up with these changes.

Today, I’m enjoying one of Rachel’s recipes—her Easy Lentil Soup, along with a pan of seasoned chicken that just came out of the oven.

Later, I’m planning to make the Litte Black Dress Quinoa Bowl for dinner. Knowing that I’m cooking healthy meals and making better choices gives me a sense of joy and accomplishment that I never expected.
