Hi! I’m Missy. My husband and I lost a total of 32.2 pounds combined with our first run of the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge. Here’s my story 🙂
I’m a 41-year-old mother of 2 active kids (14-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl), a 6-year-old rescue dog, and wife to an amazing guy who has joined me on this Clean Eating journey.
I’m also a speech-language pathologist working with children ages 3-7 in our local public school. My hubby is a firefighter in a neighboring city and is completing his 20th year on the job! We love to spend time with family and friends, and especially enjoy summers at our camp.
We have both tried a number of “diets” and “lifestyle changes” before CleanFoodCrush, but this has been the only change that has worked!
We both knew that we needed adequate portions of protein, smart carbs, veggies, and healthy fats, but just have never been able to put it together before. CFC opened our eyes to how much the food we thought was good for us was actually processed!
Not to mention the SUGAR!! That’s something we were way overdoing and didn’t even realize! Learning more about what Clean Eating really means has had such a positive impact on our lives.
People close to us have been supportive but still refer to our journey as a “diet.” We politely correct them every time…it’s not short term as the term “diet” implies; it’s a life-long lifestyle change and we never feel deprived.
Over the past 30 days, we have lost pounds and inches! I have lost 11.2 lbs and 6.25 inches. Kyle lost 21 lbs and 6.5 inches.
My blood pressure is lower and we are both sleeping better! Once I got over the sugar withdrawal headaches the first few days, I haven’t had one since.
We both have more energy and aren’t drowsy during the day. We have also both gained confidence and a desire to keep Eating Clean… AND to get moving!
Both of us have started a consistent exercise routine again which is also amazing!
I secretly talked Kyle into this challenge, making him think it was just for me…but really it was about him too. I was worried. He had an emergency 8 bypass heart surgery 5 years ago and had since lost his mojo. I was worried about him. The 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge has been a Godsend for both of us. We WILL keep going!
For anyone considering it… JUST DO IT! Week 1 is intense because you have to detox the sugar and other processed foods, but it’s so worth it!
We are about to start week 1 again and it’s not nearly as scary this time around. Take the time to plan and prep. This is ESSENTIAL. It becomes second nature with practice. Making mindful, healthy choices becomes a habit.
