Firecracker Beef Bowls

Firecracker Beef Bowls, a spicy and savory flavor explosion!

This recipe is a perfect blend of spicy and sweet, with a kick of heat from the crushed red pepper flakes and a drizzle of hot sauce in the Firecracker Sauce.

The sweet mini peppers and carrots add a pop of color and a crunchy texture, while the brown rice or quinoa provides a nutritious, filling base for our bowl.

But what really sets this recipe apart is the combination of flavors in the homemade Firecracker Sauce.

The hot sauce, raw honey, coconut aminos, and rice vinegar come together to create a sweet, sour, and spicy sauce that will leave you wanting more.

So, if you’re ready to level up your meal prep game and add some excitement to your dinner routine, give Firecracker Beef Bowls a try! 💪 Your taste buds & your whole family will thank you.

4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef or bison
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 4 fresh garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 12 ozs sweet mini peppers, thinly sliced
  • 4 medium carrots, thinly sliced

Firecracker Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup hot sauce of your choice
  • 1/3 cup raw honey
  • 1/4 cup coconut aminos, tamari, Braggs liquid aminos, or low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup unseasoned rice vinegar

To make your bowls:

  • 2 cups cooked brown rice or quinoa
  • 4 cups steamed broccoli
  • sliced green onions

Instructions:

Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook your ground meat, while mincing it with a wooden spoon.

Once the beef is no longer pink, drain any excess grease. Stir in your sea salt, onion, garlic, and red pepper flakes.

Continue to cook, stirring often for 5 minutes. If it starts to brown too quickly, add a bit of water.

Pour in the firecracker sauce over your meat then add the peppers and carrots.

Continue to cook for about 8 minutes more.

To assemble your bowls, add 1/2 cup cooked brown rice or quinoa in each bowl.

Top each with equally firecracker beef then add steamed broccoli next to it.
Garnish with green onions and enjoy!
