From Foodie to Fit: Celia’s Clean Eating Journey

Today we’re sharing the inspiring story of Celia, who discovered that clean eating could transform not just her health, but her entire approach to food and cooking. Her journey shows that it’s never too late to make positive changes and find joy in healthy living.

Meet Celia!

Hi, I’m Celia, a 57-year-old healthcare compliance professional from Northern California, where I live with my husband and adult daughter. When I’m not working remotely, you can find me on my Peloton bike, hiking local trails with my family, or enjoying wine tasting with friends. I’m also an avid reader who loves getting lost in a good book!

The Journey Begins

While I’d been following CleanFoodCrush for years, it wasn’t until January 2025 that I decided to take the plunge and join my first 30-Day Clean Eating Challenge. Like many busy professionals, I had fallen into some unhealthy habits that were starting to catch up with me.

Life Before Clean Eating

Before CleanFoodCrush, my biggest struggle was mindless snacking. Working remotely made it too easy to reach for salty or sweet snacks throughout the day. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I had ironically stopped cooking at home and found myself eating out more and more.

The wake-up call came when I saw recent photos of myself and noticed my clothes getting increasingly tighter.

Real Results That Work

The transformation began when I committed to the challenge:

🎉 My jeans are loose

🎉 I can zip up jackets that wouldn’t close before

🎉 My sleep has improved dramatically

🎉 I’ve rediscovered my love for cooking

The journey wasn’t always easy. That first week was particularly challenging, and I couldn’t even go to restaurants because the smell of unhealthy food was too tempting!

But week by week, things began to change. I maintained my 5-6 day workout routine while learning to meal prep and cook new recipes.

Getting my family involved in meals helped keep me on track.

One of my proudest moments came when a coworker mentioned that my face looked thinner – I hadn’t told anyone I was doing the challenge, so this unsolicited observation really validated my efforts!

Transforming My Relationship with Food

The CleanFoodCrush Clean Eating Challenge has completely transformed my relationship with food.

I’ve discovered that I actually crave vegetables and salads now instead of unhealthy snacks.

The approved snack list offers plenty of satisfying options, and I love switching things up daily to keep things interesting.

Favorite Clean Eating Recipes

Two of my favorite recipes are the Blender Muffins and Roasted Sweet Potatoes.

I started with simpler recipes and gradually tackled more complex ones as I became comfortable with new ingredients and spices.

Learning to read labels and cook with fresh ingredients has been an eye-opening experience.

Words of Wisdom

If you’re thinking about joining the CleanFoodCrush Challenge, my advice is simple: Go for it – you can do this! I still have a kitchen full of unhealthy snacks, but I walk right past them because I know how good it feels to nourish my body with clean, healthy foods. The pride you’ll feel in taking care of yourself is worth every moment of adjustment.
