Hi there friend!
My name is Carrrie, and this year I lost 50 pound with CleanFoodCrush and the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge. Here’s my story, I hope it inspires you along your own journey 🙂
I’m a 40 year old, full-time single mom to a 6 and 4 year old and I work at a medical clinic as a receptionist, I’m also a licensed massage therapist. I have a very large extended family and most live in the same small town that I grew up in. Everything I do at this time in my life revolves around my kids and family.
I’ve never been thin, but I gained more weight after my second pregnancy and then even more when going through a separation and divorce. I became depressed and ate my feelings away.
First, I purchased Rachel’s cookbook bundle in January and joined some of the facebook pages prior to that. I didn’t start right away, but when I did, I discovered all of her recipes were easy and delicious! I love that they don’t take exotic items or have a long list of ingredients. Just real food!
As I started to make some of the recipes, I actually started wanting to eat better! I had days and weeks where I would fall off the Clean Eating train, but I would start again. I lost about 30 pounds by the end of August and then felt kind of stuck. I wasn’t fully Eating Clean and was losing the same 5 pounds.
I finally chose to make the commitment and joined the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge.
I decided to join the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge in September. I lost a total of 12 pounds during that month. I ended up joining for the year so that I can continue on this journey! Now, I’ve lost a total of 50 pounds this year!
I don’t have cravings and I don’t mindlessly eat. If I’m feeling like I need a snack, I’m normally grabbing veggies. I am starting to find myself again and I’m gaining my self confidence back.
This has been the easiest weight loss I have ever had. I tell everyone that I am not on a diet, I just changed what I’m eating. I think this is important because I don’t want my kids to think I’m “dieting”, I’m just eating healthy!
Rachel, Billie and the team supported me along the way, and they will be a wonderful support system for you too! My photo’s above are a before photo and a progress photo, because I plan on continuing this journey – so it’s not an after photo yet.
I was asked what words of wisdom I have for someone who’s new to Clean Eating, so here’s what I want to share: the first week may be difficult, but it will be worth it to get rid of cravings. Drink lots of water. Don’t compare your progress to anyone else. Don’t be disappointed if you “only” lose a pound or two in a week, by the end of the month that adds up and before starting you wouldn’t be disappointed with losing “only a pound”. If you stumble, forgive yourself and move on you don’t fail unless you give up.
❤️ Carrie
