From Struggle to Strength: Katie’s 30-Pound Weight Loss Success
Today we are sharing the amazing and truly transformational story of Katie. Her story is one of determination and the importance of finding your reason for change. Katie has lost over 30 lbs since joining the CleanFoodCrush 30-Day Clean Eating challenge. She has not only transformed her own health but the well-being for her entire family.
Meet Katie!
Hi I’m Katie, a 42-year-old office manager from the Pacific Northwest. I’m a wife, mother of three, and a proud grandmother of one. Life is busy between work and caring for my family, including our two dogs and a cat, but as the years passed, I realized I was losing focus on my health.
I first discovered CleanFoodCrush in late 2019 when a friend shared one of Rachel’s recipes on social media. The meal looked amazing, and I decided to follow the public CleanFoodCrush page for more inspiration.
In 2020, I even joined the private group and my first Clean Eating Challenge. But at that time, life was chaotic—my husband had just had surgery, we’d moved into a new house, and I had started a new job. I wasn’t truly ready to commit, though I did manage to lose 4.5 pounds during the challenge.
As time went on, I continued to follow Rachel’s recipes, but my life stayed busy. By the time our oldest son got married in September 2023, I had reached my highest weight of 279 pounds. I didn’t realize it at the time because I wasn’t focusing on my weight—I was just trying to get through the days.
But after seeing a picture of myself at the wedding, it hit me hard.
I wore a champagne-colored dress that I thought would be flattering, but when I saw the photo, I felt so disappointed. 😢
I was even wearing shapewear, but it didn’t make a difference. No one had the heart to tell me how the dress actually looked on my body, and seeing the comments online from internet trolls only made it worse. 💔
That moment was a wake-up call.
In January 2024, I made a promise to myself on my 42nd birthday:
I was going to lose 43 pounds by my 43rd birthday.
But by June, I had only lost 10 pounds and felt discouraged again.
That’s when I knew I had to take control. I went home after a doctor’s appointment and decided to log back into my 30-Day Clean Eating Challenge.
This time, I was doing it for me.
