Roasted Parmesan Cabbage Steaks
Have ever tried roasted cabbage? If not, you’re most definitely missing out! I REALLY LOVE all those crispy-crunchy edges.
So much that often my family doesn’t even know that part exists…because…well…mom’s already eaten those right off the pan! Â They taste like chips to me! Such a treat!

In terms of price per cup, a report by the Department of Agriculture (USDA) has shown cabbage to be the second most economical cooked vegetable in terms of price per edible cup.

Most people don’t know what a powerhouse of a food cabbage really is. I’ve been eating it on the regular for the past 6 years…both in soups and roasted like this.
Cabbage is a cruciferous vegetable that increases the production of antioxidant and detoxification enzymes and stimulates the production of liver cleansing.
It actually helps your liver break down toxins so they can be more easily expelled, and it also has diuretic properties help rid your body of excess liquid, carrying toxins along with it!Makes about 6 servings
Ingredients:
- 2 medium heads green cabbage, rinsed and sliced into 1/2” inch slices
- sea salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 Tbsps avocado oil, or olive oil
- 1/3 cup ground parmesan cheese
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees f. then line 2 large sheet pans with parchment paper or silicone mats.
Brush the cabbage steaks evenly with oil on all sides and season with a pinch of sea salt and pepper.
Arrange your cabbage slices onto the prepared baking sheets making sure not to overlap.
They need space to crisp up properly!
Sprinkle evenly with parmesan, then roast in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, until they are done to your liking. I like mine to be nice and crispy on the edges!
