Valentines Caprese Skewers

OKAYYYY the weekend ahead just got a lot better!

Since I’m COMPLETELY OBSESSED with anything Caprese – ohhh please just give me that fresh basil aroma…combined with sweet juicy tomatoes…and creamy mozzarella….my love language for sure. 🍅🌱🧀

I saw this brilliant & fun idea the other day on my friend/fellow blogger @rosalynndaniels Instagram (GO FOLLOW HER she’s so inspiring and just an all-around beautiful person!) And immediately *KNEW* that I needed these in my life ❤❤❤

Make these lil’ cuties for Valentine or your Game Day this upcoming weekend!

I think they’d also be FAB drizzled in a good balsamic glaze!

Rachel’s Best Balsamic Reduction Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup high-quality balsamic vinegar
  • 2 Tbsps raw honey

Instructions:

Whisk balsamic vinegar and honey together in a very small saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil, immediately reduce heat to low, then simmer until the vinegar mixture has reduced about 8 minutes.

10 Valentine Caprese Skewers

Ingredients:

  • 10 grape tomatoes
  • 20 mini mozzarella balls
  • fresh basil leaves
  • 10 cocktail bamboo toothpicks
  • 1 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • sea salt flakes and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

Slice each grape tomato in half diagonally, then put the two halves together to resemble a heart shape as shown in the video.

Thread them with a toothpick to keep the heart-shaped tomato together.

Add a mozzarella ball followed by basil leaves at each end of the skewer.

Lay your Valentine Caprese Skewers on a large platter and drizzle with a bit of extra virgin olive oil, your balsamic glaze if desired, then season with sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste.

Enjoy!
