How to make Sweet Potato Curly Fries:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Peel 2 medium sweet potatoes.
  3. Place spiral potatoes on a flat sheet pan (cover sheet pan with a baking mat, parchment, or foil, & lightly spray with olive oil)
  4. Toss spirals with a VERY small amount of olive oil. About 1 tsp or so. If you use too much, they will become soggy.
  5. Sprinkle with combined seasonings.
  6. Toss.
  7. Bake 15-20 minutes in your preheated 400 f degree oven, until they begin to turn crunchy in places. (Personal preference)
  8. Flip. Bake for 15-20 minutes on the other side.
  9. Serve with low-sugar, all-natural ketchup!

Enjoy!

Rachel’s Tips

Recipe FAQ’s

Are Sweet Potato Fries healthy?

Yes! If you make your own sweet potato fries in the oven or air fryer, they are a healthy whole food that is perfect for a side dish or snack.

Why did my sweet potato fries turn out mushy?

Make sure you don’t overcrowd the pan when you bake them. Overcrowding can cause the fries to steam instead of roast which will give them a mushy texture. You may need to bake them in smaller batches or divide the amount onto multiple baking sheets.

Can I make sweet potato curly fries in the air fryer?

The air fryer is absolutely a great way to cook sweet potato curly fries! I recommend preheating the air fryer to 400°F and cooking for about 10 minutes, then shaking the basket and cooking for another 5 minutes. Cooking in small batches will give you the best results.
