fact: strawberries are best when served at room temperature.

Generally speaking, peak strawberry season in the U.S. runs from April through June, but here is the breakdown so you can plan your berry-picking dates:

  • The Deep South (Florida/Texas): You lucky ducks get them early! The season usually starts in late February or March and goes through April.
  • The Middle States (California/Carolinas): This is the heart of the season, typically peaking in April and May. California actually produces strawberries almost year-round, but they are at their absolute sweetest in the spring.
  • The Northern States & Canada: You have to wait a little longer, but it’s worth it! Peak season is usually June and early July. This is why “June-bearing” strawberries are so famous in the Northeast and Midwest.
fact: strawberries are a perennial and will grow back year after year.
