Air-Fryer Crunchy Avocado Wedges 🥑

Are you an avocado lover like me? Well today is your lucky day 😅

I first saw these on a bar menu while traveling, and of course, *HAD* to try them with the intention of recreating them at home. And that I did.

Well then, let’s head to the kitchen to make a quick snack together, shall we?

But seriously, these are fairly easy to make and come together quickly.

Thanks to that crispy coating and the healthy fat in the avocado they are SUPER SUPER satisfying! Add in the tasty homemade dip…just so good! Top tier snacks in my opinion!

I don’t use panko often, but it’s an important ingredient here. Check your panko ingredient label as some varieties add cane sugar. Ideally, find an authentic panko product with no additives, and no preservatives.

🔥I would have added a few teaspoons of Sriracha to this dipping sauce if I had it on hand… so maybe you’ll want to do that!

I also think a big pinch of smoked paprika whisked into the almond flour would be an awesome addition for next time!

Makes 6 servings

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup almond flour
  • 2 tsps garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt and ground pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 cup organic Panko
  • 2 large ripe but firm avocados, pit removed, cut into 4-6 wedges each

For Dipping Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup homemade mayonnaise
  • 3 tsps freshly-squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced

Instructions:

Whisk well to combine your almond flour, garlic powder, sea salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.

Add beaten eggs to another shallow bowl.

Place Panko crumbs in another shallow dish.

Dredge avocado wedges first in your almond flour mixture, eggs, and then Panko crumbs, lightly pressing to adhere.

Spray or brush avocado oil on your air fryer basket to prevent sticking then gently place your avocado wedges into the basket without touching as they need their space to crisp up.

Cook at 400 degrees f. for 7-8 minutes, flipping wedges halfway through cooking. They are done when they are crispy and golden brown.

If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake your avocado wedges in a preheated 350 ÌŠdegree f. oven for 10-12 minutes, flipping once, until they’re crispy and golden brown.

While the wedges cook, prepare your dipping sauce. Whisk together mayo, lemon juice, sea salt, and minced garlic in a small bowl. If you like it spicy add a drop of hot sauce or Sriracha.

Serve avocado wedges while hot with your dipping sauce and enjoy!

Cooked avocado wedges don’t store very well, so only cook as many as you’re planning to eat.
