Healthier Stovetop PopcornðŸ¿ðŸ¿ðŸ¿
I know it’s such a VERY SIMPLE thing: Stovetop POPPED Popcorn, but sometimes we need a little reminder how FUN and EASY it is to make snacks at home!
My kids ABSOLUTELY LOVE it when I take a few minutes to make a special stovetop batch of popcorn for movie night…even more special throughout the holidays!
This is an EXCELLENT snack idea for older children, & growing teens (like my 6) because they really love it, it’s economical, and REALLY EASY!

Try sprinkling your popcorn with –
- Nutritional yeast,
- Garlic powder
- A little cayenne pepper
- Or a little ground cinnamon.
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsps unrefined organic coconut oil, ghee, or avocado oil
- 1/2 cup organic popcorn kernels
- 1/2 tsp fine sea salt, to taste
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
Instructions:
Place a heavy-bottomed pot on your stovetop.
Add oil and heat over medium-high heat.
Once hot, CAREFULLY add 2-3 popcorn kernels as a test round. Once the first kernel pops, stir in the remaining 1/2 cup. Carefully stir to evenly coat all the kernels with oil, then cover with a lid.
Next, allow the pot to sit undisturbed over medium heat.
You’ll hear the popcorn pop continuously for about a minute or so.
Once the popping stops or slows drastically, then immediately take the pot off the heat. Burnt popcorn is the worst, so tend to your batch!
Sprinkle with sea salt and paprika, or any seasonings of your choice, then toss to coat.
Serve warm and enjoy with your favorite holiday movies cuddled up together ✨â¤ðŸŽ„
