Meet Loree Who Lost Over 17 Pounds with CleanFoodCrush!
I’m Loree, I’m 47 years old and the mother of two teenage boys, 17 and 15. I have an amazingly supportive husband who joined me in the Challenge. I have been an elementary school teacher for the past 21 years. I love spending time with family and friends, having laughs and making memories. Exercise is important to me, so I do activities like walking, jogging, biking, hiking, TaeKwonDo, and exercise videos I find on YouTube.
I have been receiving clean eating recipes from Rachel for about a year now, but it wasn’t until I saw the June Clean Food Crush Challenge that I began taking the clean eating thing seriously.
I participated in the June and July challenge. During that time I lost 17.5 pounds. My starting weight was 153 pounds and at the end of the 2-month challenge I weighed in at 135.5 pounds.
My goal was 135…Woo-hoo! I actually hit my goal on the day after the official weigh-in and am still losing weight after the 2nd month. It is very exciting to see the changes in my body during that time. I am fitting into clothes that haven’t fit in years. I’m glad I didn’t get rid of them.😉
My husband lost over 20 pounds during the 2-month challenge. We look like different people now…lol!
TIME and KNOWLEDGE were huge challenges in eating healthy before Clean Eating. With 2 teenage boys, their activities, the demand of my job, and regular household duties, it was difficult to prepare healthy meals. We tended to have a lot of quick meals like burgers with tater tots, PIZZA each week, ordering out, sandwiches, and the list goes on. Sugar cravings were a challenge. I LOVE or LOVED sweets! Starburst, brownies, cake, muffins, and tons of fruit were a definite weakness. Additionally, I don’t think I ever knew what the right amount of food or proportions of food to eat were. This led me to overeat. I would keep eating because I liked the taste and not necessarily because I was hungry.
It feels incredible to be in control of my food rather than my food being in control of me. I learned what the right foods and amounts are to put into my body throughout the day.
I feel healthy, satisfied, and energetic. I am now able to appreciate the food I am putting into my mouth and why I am eating it. It is easier to distinguish if I am eating because I am hungry rather than out of boredom or emotions. If it’s not out of hunger, then I can reflect and redirect that energy in a more positive way.
JOIN a Challenge NOW!!! It will be one of the best decisions you can make for yourself. You will learn how to eat healthy along with a load of other benefits.
For example, I am no longer taking my acid reflux medicine and my husband’s blood pressure has improved. I am shocked at how the weight just keeps coming off. I see this as a lifestyle change that my husband and I can continue to stick with for the long haul.
One of the biggest things that led to our success was meal prep. If we planned out what we wanted to have for our meals and did the shopping, the food would be in the house. Having the right foods with a plan is key.
One of my all-time FAVORITE recipes is Oatmeal Blender Muffins. I make them weekly! The Sweet and Sour Chicken is also fantastic!
Mushroom Herbed Rice is a staple in our house. I make it in the Instant Pot but leave out the mushrooms some of the time.
I love using the CFC recipes because I know they are clean and healthy.
