Hi 🙂
My name is Carla Hatch I am 49 years old, I’ll be 50 in December. This is my transformation story and the experience I had on the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge. Thanks for reading!
I’m a married, stay at home mom and I have 2 boys ages 18, and 20. I just finished homeschooling my youngest son through high school and now I’m trying to figure out where to go from here and what to do with my life. For fun I love reading, kayaking and watching movies with my boys. I also love walking my dogs for exercise and stress relief.
I’ve had weight problems all my life. I lost 30 lbs. my junior year in high school, and kept it off until I got pregnant with my boys.
Since then it has been yoyo dieting for the past 20 years. I swear I have lost the same 10 lbs. a hundred times. My top weight was 250 pounds. I weighed 234 pounds when I started the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge with CleanFoodCrush.
I started the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenged on January 2nd, 2017. After Week One: I no longer have sugar cravings, I’ve lost 37 pounds and have gone from a size 20 pants to a size 14.
I also reached my first goal of getting my weight under 200 pounds in May. That was a huge milestone for me. I haven’t weighed under 200 pounds since 2004!!
I have a lot more weight to lose, but I know that I have the tools, recipes, and support I need to get to my ideal weight.
Before I started the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge I had gone to my doctor for my yearly check-up. The news was:
- I was pre-diabetic
- had a fatty liver
- high cholesterol
- and high blood pressure.
This was the kick in the pants I needed to finally do something about my weight.
When I started I really did not expect the results that I have had. Never before have I found a way to lose weight that is so easy to do.
But with the cravings gone after the first week and the pounds and inches falling away I find it easy to stay on track because I know if I follow the plan the weight will keep coming off. This is a huge motivator for me.
I love how CleanFoodCrush always says “we are striving for progress, and not perfection” I have this posted on my refrigerator to remind me that even if I mess up and I do, that tomorrow is a new day and I can get back on track and keep moving forward.
Thanks to the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge, when I went back to my doctor in March and had my blood work done:
- Both my A1C, fatty liver and blood pressure were back to normal range, and my cholesterol was only 1 point over normal.
- These were major “non scale victories” for me that I never thought would happen as fast as they did!
- Another “non scale victory” (meaning it has nothing to do with my weight and ALL about my health) is the fact that I have always had hip and leg pain due to inflammation.
- As the weight comes off I have less and less pain.
- I also have more energy than I have had in a very long time.
- My cravings were gone after the first week.
- And inches are just falling away!
My words of wisdom are to trust in the process. It really does work. Rachel and here team are amazing, and there is so much support from the Facebook group.
One thing that has really helped me is being active in the private, challenge members only Facebook group. It helps to keep you accountable and all the people there are striving for the same things that you are. They are always there with encouragement, tips and help.
As I said before the best motivator for me is the thought that “we are striving for progress and not perfection” that makes it so easy to get back on track if you happen to fall off. Lastly, following the CleanFoodCrush lifestyle is something that you can keep up for the rest of your life. Clean Eating is truly a lifestyle change and not a diet. I am done with dieting because it doesn’t work for me but CleanFoodCrush and the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge does!
