Mango Habanero Wings 🥭🔥😋

Oh YES, please! If you’re a big fan of chicken wings, then these have gotta go on your must-make-this-weekend list!

Spicy & Sweet plus incredible insane flavors thanks to all those spices and this special layering method.

Our Mango Habanero Sauce transforms a basic chicken wing into something complex, satisfying, and totally snackable.

Your crew will completely DEVOUR these lil’ babies!

All of these flavors are surprisingly complementary — so they actually enhance each other.

While you tend to get “hits†of spicy or sweet flavors, you’ll also get a whole lotta flavor that is deep, complex, and very satisfying.

That’s what “layering†flavors is all about in this recipe.

🋠ALWAYS use freshly-squeezed lime juice from an actual fresh lime. Bottled lime juice from the store will give your wings a strange metallic or overly acidic taste.

Want to get the most juice possible from each of your fresh limes? Of course, we do!

Here’s a quick trick:

On your counter or a cutting board, press and roll the lime back and forth very firmly with your hands.

The rolling loosens and breaks down some of the citrus membranes and makes the outside a little more pliable. This makes it easier to squeeze which also means you’ll likely get more juice from your squeeze.

Let me know how this works for you!

NOTE: Heat preference is a personal preference so use more habanero peppers for extra heat and less for a milder sauce.

Leftovers:

  • Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to three days.

Serving Size:

  • One serving is approximately three-four wings.

Additional Toppings:

  • Sliced green onions.

6 servings

Ingredients:

  • 4 lbs fresh chicken wings
  • 4 Tbsps Arrowroot powder, potato starch, or cornstarch
  • sea salt and ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tsps smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder

Mango Habanero Sauce:

  • 2-3 whole habanero peppers, seeded
  • 1 medium very ripe mango, diced
  • 1/4 cup raw honey
  • 4 fresh garlic cloves
  • 1 medium onion, roughly chopped
  • sea salt and ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 fresh limes, juiced
  • 2 Tbsps apple cider vinegar

Instructions:

Remove your chicken wings from the fridge about 20-30 minutes before preparing. They cook more evenly when they are not cold.

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees f. and line a large sheet pan with parchment paper.

Blot any moisture off of your chicken wings using paper towels.

Place your chicken wings in a large bowl and sprinkle with the arrowroot powder or cornstarch, sea salt, pepper, and all of the seasonings.

Toss well to evenly coat each wing well, then place them in a single layer on your prepared sheet pan with space between each.

Roast for 35-40 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a high-speed blender or food processor, add all of your mango-habanero ingredients.

Process until very smooth.

Carefully remove the hot pan from the oven and drizzle the wings with your mango-habanero sauce and carefully toss to combine.

Place the pan back into the oven and continue to roast for 15 minutes, until the wings are golden-brown, and the sauce is sticky.

Enjoy while hot!
