How to Choose Healthy Pickles for Your Hummus

💡TIP: Do you have any pickles in your fridge? Go check the ingredients list!

✅Chances are if you buy regular commercial pickles … you’re not getting healthy probiotics from them!

👉🏾For pickles to contain the “good” bacteria, they must be fermented in a solution of water and salt and be REFRIGERATED. Pickles sitting on the store shelf (no refrigeration) do NOT fall into this “raw” probiotic rich category.

🔥Check your store’s refrigerated section for probiotic-rich pickles and be sure to read the labels!

🍋ALWAYS use freshly-squeezed lemon juice from an actual fresh citrus.

Variations to Pickle Hummus

There are not many other things we like more than pickle flavored hummus, but sometimes we like to change it up here and do things like:

  • Make garlic pickle hummus, where we just add a little bit of garlic paste to my already pickily hummus.
  • Or make spicy pickle hummus, when we add a little bit of spice from chili flakes or cayenne pepper.

Both are delicious; let me know if you try either!

These are the clean ingredients that make this Dill Pickle Hummus both delicious and nutritious.
