Bacon Wrapped Cheese Stuffed Dates🎄

The ULTIMATE Sweet & Salty combo!

Perfect lil’ holiday appetizers that’ll dissappear quick!

These are really easy and fun to make, so get the kids in the kitchen to help!

âž¡ï¸ Any soft cheese works here:

Goat cheese, gorgonzola, blue cheese, organic cream cheese etc. Use your favorite.

We eat bacon a few times each month at our house because it’s something we (REALLY) enjoy!

âž¡ï¸ About the Bacon:

There are many high quality bacon options available these days. Look for nitrate-free, and humanly raised if possible. Always read the ingredients so you know what you’re really buying.

On occasion we do enjoy a creamy baked treat using REAL cream cheese at our house.

This might only happen a handful of times each year…but we sure do enjoy it!

My favorite brand of cream cheese is pasture raised “Organic Valley”.

I haven’t tried making a dairy free version of this particular recipe, as everyone in my family does enjoy dairy in moderation.

📣 If you have a dairy free suggestion will you leave it below in the comments to help out our strictly dairy-free #Crushers, pretty please? We’re aware that dairy allergies and intolerances are a very real thing for many.

📣 Let us know how your family likes this recipe throughout the holidays.

Makes about 6 servings

Ingredients:

  • 3.5 oz goat cheese, or any soft cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 12 medjool dates
  • 6 thin-cut strips of nitrate-free bacon, cut in half to create 12 pieces
  • freshly chopped chives, to garnish
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees f and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a small bowl, stir together the cheese with the garlic salt.

Cut a lengthwise slit in the dates and open them up, then remove and discard the pit.

Stuff each date with about 2 teaspoons of your cheese mixture. Pinch the dates to close.

Now wrap each date with a bacon strip as shown.

Place all the dates onto your prepared sheet as shown and bake for 15-20 minutes or until bacon is browned and crispy; Turning the dates halfway through to ensure even browning.

Serve your bacon wrapped dates warm or at room temperature, garnished with chopped chives and freshly ground black pepper.

Enjoy!
