Peanut Butter Froyo Pops

Here’s a really SIMPLE and FUN food-craft to make with the kiddos this week!

Homemade PB Frozen froyo pops are high in protein, and healthy fat, but deliver that satisfying frozen chocolate taste that *almost* reminds me of frozen ice cream snickers bars (without the tummy ache and sugar crash)

Just a few simple ingredients to make these impressive little chocolate frozen yogurt pops at home!

➡️When shopping for ingredients:

Look for a higher percentage of cacao for the chocolate chips, and always read the ingredients.

There are always lots of questions about chocolate brands – I like to visit the specialty (nicer) chocolate section at the stores and find a really high quality, (often organic) dark chocolate bar on SALE – so I’m often trying something different because the sales dictate my purchase.

🍫A high-quality dark chocolate bar works great too! I’ll often find a beautiful organic dark chocolate bar on sale, then chop it up to melt for things like this.

I like to buy the highest quality I can find when it’s on SALE! I’m always keeping an eye out for a good deal and will often stock up when a high-quality product is on special.

Use any dark chocolate chips of your choice: the higher cacao percentage = more health benefits.

❤️🥜 ❤️🥜Who LOVES Peanut Butter!? 🙋‍♀️

Many Peanut Butter Varieties that are marketed as “healthy” actually contain added sugars and hydrogenated oils. Be sure to always read the ingredients.

We sometimes “grind” our own nut butters at the grocery markets that offer this service.

This way, we know that it’s JUST Peanuts and maybe a touch of sea salt in our nut butters.
#PeanutButterLove🥜 And YES! This recipe is just as awesome with Almond Butter, or Cashew Butter in exchange for the Peanut Butter!

-> I used “Just Ingredients” protein powder in vanilla flavor for these froyo pops.

Why is the Just Ingredients Protein Powder & collagen our FAVORITE option?

The protein comes from 5 sources: 100% super high-quality grass-fed whey, pea protein, pumpkin seed, chia seeds and collagen.

There is a lot less whey compared to normal protein powders so it may be easier on the stomach than other protein powders!

Free from sugar, gluten, artificial sweeteners or any artificial ingredients.

4 servings

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup all-natural peanut butter
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder powder
  • 2 Tbsps almond flour
  • 3 Tbsps raw peanuts, coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, melted
  • 1 Tbsp unrefined organic coconut oil
  • 4 wooden popsicle sticks
  • flaky sea salt

Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and make space in your freezer for it.

In a medium bowl, whisk the yogurt, peanut butter, protein powder, and almond flour together until very smooth.

Onto your prepared sheet pan divide this mixture into 4 round molds as shown.

Sprinkle with chopped peanuts, lightly “pat” the peanuts into the yogurt, then insert a wooden stick into the very center of each one.

Freeze for 2 hours, or until firm.

Meanwhile, melt your chocolate together with the coconut oil.

Dip each frozen pop into the melted chocolate, sprinkle with sea salt, and serve immediately or freeze until ready to serve.

To store: wrap tightly with parchment or plastic. Store in the freezer for up to a month.
