Rachel’s Healthier Frappe

I’ll just leave this right here for you…

Not only will this DELICIOUS homemade Frappe version save you a bunch of money compared to the coffee shop, but you can make it anytime you want!

Simply save your leftover brewed coffee from the morning pot (Place coffee in the fridge in a lidded container), and then you can blend these up whenever you’re craving an icy-cold coffee treat.

I love making gourmet-style coffee treats at home because I know EXACTLY what goes into them!

When you go to the coffee shop and order almond milk or coconut milk you’re most likely getting lots of added sugar and additives in the milks they are using. Not good.

Some like things sweeter, some don’t…making these Frappes yourself means YOU get to control the taste and flavors.

We’ve been enjoying these with lots of ice and shaken really well (because it’s just quicker that way!)…but this recipe is also FABULOUS with everything blended together in a high-speed blender until frothy, and creamy.

Makes 2 servings

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups strong brewed coffee chilled
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbsps maple syrup, raw honey, or stevia to taste
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut cream, coconut milk, almond milk, or cashew milk
  • ice as desired (lots!)
  • dark chocolate shavings to garnish, I used Lily’s brand sweetened with stevia

Instructions:

Stir, shake, or blend chilled coffee with vanilla extract, and sweetener of choice, then divide evenly between 2 (16oz.) wide mouth jars or glasses.

Desired sweetness level is definitely a personal preference, so always start with less then do a taste-test to get it just right.

Add in as much ice as desired and pour in the coconut cream evenly into each glass. Garnish with dark chocolate shavings and enjoy!
