{NEW} Crispy Baked Sweet Potato Fries + Ranch Dip 🍠🍟

Ever bite into a limp, soggy sweet potato fry?! 😲
Ya, it happens to us all!

I’m asked all the time, HOW TO get those sweet potato fries to CRISP up at home???

Here are my BEST tips for you to try:

➡️ Use avocado oil for roasting your potatoes, and NOT a lot!

Avocado oil is far superior for roasting vegetables in my opinion.

A teeny tiny bit of oil goes a LONGGG way with fries.

If you’ve ever had soggy fries, most likely they were just coated in too much oil.

➡️ Try salting your fries AFTER roasting, if soggy fries continue to be a problem for you.
Salt draws out the moisture in vegetables, so if they are sitting in salt throughout the entire prep & cooking process, then you’re just dealing with all of that moisture being released. Simply wait until serving to sprinkle with a tiny pinch of salt.

➡️ Make sure your fries are placed in a nice, even layer on the sheet pans. They need space to crisp up. Proper air-flow without any overcrowding on your sheet pans will help wonders! Use several pans, or cook in batches if you’re making a bunch of fries.

➡️ Use parchment paper or Silpat mats/liners on your sheet pans.

Do you have any other tips for us?

Let me know if our tricks help you to successfully roast nice crispy fries at home!

makes about 3 servings
Ingredients:

  • 2 large sweet potatoes or yams
  • 1.5 Tbsps avocado oil, or olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp granulated garlic
  • sea salt and fresh ground black pepper, to your taste

Healthier Ranch Dip:

  • 2/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 Tbsp wholegrain mustard (Dijon)
  • 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp chopped chives
  • 2 Tbsp fine diced sweet onion
  • 1 fresh garlic clove, minced or pressed
  • a pinch of sea salt and pepper, or to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees f. and line a large baking sheet (or two) with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  2. Cut the sweet potatoes into 1/2 inch fries, evenly as shown and place them into a large bowl.
  3. Sprinkle fries with pepper, oregano, garlic, and drizzle with oil.
  4. Toss well to get all of your fries nicely coated.
  5. Arrange in a single layer, with some space in between (so they can crisp up), on the baking sheets and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping once during roasting time.
  6. Meanwhile, prepare your healthy Ranch dip. In a small bowl, add all ranch ingredients and whisk to combine.
  7. Sprinkle with sea salt just before serving.

Enjoy!
