You guys, it’s 2020!! We’ve arrived, and what a holiday season that was 🙂
Jason and I celebrated with our BIG blended family and had a beautiful time.
Many of us are in full gear, ready to CRUSH our goals!!
I LOVE the energy buzzing at this time of year, there are so many people who are READY for CHANGE and TRANSFORMATION!
As we kick off a brand new decade it’s important to have a plan. Here are 6 ways to kick off the New Year with Clean Eating.
Are you ready?! Let’s Goooooo!!

1. Write it down
Writing things down is POWERFUL. Our brains wire in habits much more effectively when we write them down with pen and paper! What is it that you want to achieve this 2020? How do you want to FEEL? What are you willing to DO in order to get there? How will you make sure you have the right support? Write down your goals and put them somewhere visible, like on the fridge or your bathroom mirror. Look at them daily and be positive about each small step you make towards the life you want!
2. Prep the night before
If you’ve been with me for a while on CleanFoodCrush then you know that meal prepping is my lifeline. I promise you, if there’s ONE thing you do to make your Clean Eating goals a success, it’s gotta be meal prepping. Get your meals ready the night before, or schedule 2-3 short prep sessions per week. And don’t forget, you can prep your breakfast too! How you start your day is EVERYTHING when it comes to kicking a sugar habit and building a new lifestyle.
3. Stick to high-protein breakfast
Protein in the morning keeps the cravings at bay! This is your new mantra for Clean Eating success! It’s SO important to make protein your focus while you’re making this transition. Protein throughout the day will help balance your blood sugar levels and keep you satiated longer. But if you eat sugar or too many starches or carbs first thing, you’re setting yourself up for a big afternoon slump and sugar cravings later in the day.
Start your morning off with one of these recipes:
Overnight Egg + Sausage Breakfast Casserole Bake
Spinach Mushroom Crustless Quiche
Fiesta Veggie Frittata Skillet
4. Create an accountability system
Who’s helping you stick to your goals? You might be tempted to keep your goal a secret, just in case you fail. I’m telling you now, this WON’T work! You’ve gotta have the support and an accountability system. After helping thousands of women and men transform with Clean Eating, I’ve learned that nothing makes us stronger than a community of people who have our back! That’s why I created the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge. We’re stronger together.
5. Keep your cupboards and fridge clean
If it’s not in the house, you can’t eat it! I know, sounds simple, but it’s one of the ways my family and I stay clean and healthy! I make sure to stock our pantry and fridge with high-quality, healthy, low to no sugar ingredients and fresh whole foods. If you’re serious about making this change, go through your cupboards and donate or get rid of the super processed foods, candy and other junk foods that might tempt you when those late-night cravings hit.
6. Focus on what you can eat, not what you can’t
A positive mindset is half the battle. I always tell my clients, think about all of the amazing foods you CAN eat, rather than spending your time dwelling on what you’re cutting out. This isn’t a diet and it’s NOT about deprivation! Seriously, you can have SO many delicious foods and there are tons of great recipes for you and your family to try. Don’t spend a minute more focusing on lack. The people who succeed and make the life-long transition to Clean Eating do it because they have learned to truly ENJOY their food, and stay committed to their health, happiness, and well-being.
