My name is Kristen and this is my review of the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge.
When I first started the challenge I had been going to the gym for about a year and had lost a bit of weight. Then I went on a few vacations in a short period of time and gained it all back, plus some extra.
I weighed more than ever before and I knew something had to change. I knew exercise could help me to a certain point, but that if I truly wanted to lose and maintain weight loss, I needed to change my eating habits.
CleanFoodCrush has helped me transform my eating habits and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
The biggest lessons I learned from CleanFoodCrush were how often to eat, and how much to eat. It seems counterintuitive to eat so many meals a day; we think if we eat less, we will lose weight but I experienced the opposite to be true on this program. I didn’t have to meticulously count calories, restrict myself constantly, or go to bed hungry.
Before starting the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge, I would eat maybe twice a day. My body wasn’t used to eating so often, and it took awhile to get used to that, in addition to portion sizes. I’m still not always 100% compliant, but I’m a lot better than when I started.
Rachel teaches us that it’s not about being perfect, it’s about making changes that we can stick to while we truly ENJOY our lives!
Something I struggle with in my life is anxiety. Since starting this challenge and continuing the lifestyle change, in addition to exercising regularly, I have noticed my anxiety hasn’t been as bad or affecting me as much. I’ve been sleeping better overall and I’m feeling way more confident in myself.
I lost 3.5 inches in my hips, 1.5 inches on my thighs, 1.25 inches off my waist, and 2 inches off my chest. 10.8 pounds lost overall!!
One of the biggest inspirations for me was when I compared my “before” and “after” pictures side by side and saw how big of a difference Clean Eating made in just 4 weeks.
During the challenge, even though I weighed and measured weekly, I couldn’t really see the difference in the mirror. You see yourself every day, so it’s hard to notice small changes over time. Seeing my before and after right next to one another was a real eye-opener for me.
Some of the unhealthy foods I used to enjoy are no longer appealing to me; my tastes have changed! The “bad” foods don’t taste as good as they used to and I’ve started craving healthier foods more. I’m motivated and inspired to continue my weight loss journey, and maintain a healthy, active lifestyle.
The CleanFoodCrush 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge was different from anything else I’d tried in the very best of ways!
I needed a plan that laid out an exact meal plan for me (what to eat, how much, how often, etc). There are so many delicious recipes!!
Plus, for nights when I wanted something quick to make and didn’t have any meals prepped, there were so many quick dish recipes available to me. Try this Quick 20 Minute Cilantro-Lime Shrimp + Corn Skillet out and you’ll see what I mean!
The Facebook support group was a HUGE help as well. Everyone there was very encouraging and supportive. Billie-Jo and the team always answered my questions very quickly. I never felt like I was doing the challenge alone, that helped my mindset so much.
This was the first plan I ever tried and actually stuck with. The challenge laid everything out for me, providing me with all the tools I needed to succeed.
My words of wisdom for you if you’re really ready to transform your body and life: Just do it!! It is so worth it.
If you do start, don’t give up. The first week may be the hardest, but it is only for a week. It does get better, and easier!!
Also, if you have any setbacks, don’t give up on yourself. Just pick yourself back up, and continue on. None of us are perfect. I had setbacks/slip-ups, and still lost weight and inches overall! Think of this as a lifestyle change, and as long as most of the time you make Clean choices, you will see a difference! Persistence is key; never give up!
