Reduce Cellulite How To

Before we talk about how to get rid of Cellulite, let’s just make one thing clear. Cellulite is normal, and most women will have some or a lot of it at one point or another in their lives.

While it’s natural to want to improve how you feel in your own skin, learning how to celebrate and honor your body is so important! Our bodies do so much for us, so remember to love yourself along the way to making these changes.

The other day I was at the pool with Jason, and I saw quite a few women who were fit and still had some cellulite. They exuded confidence as they walked around in their bathing suits with their partners, laughing and playing. I was so inspired!

Here’s the thing, I too work on reducing my cellulite, but not at the expense of enjoying life! When I’m on a really tight regimen, Eating Clean, eliminating alcohol, hydrating properly, and hitting the gym consistently – my cellulite almost completely diminishes. However, keeping up with that level of consistency would require me to sacrifice other more important things like time with my family, or enjoying a glass of wine at a backyard BBQ here and there. I’ve found that BALANCE when it comes to how we view and treat our bodies is so key!

Here Are 10 Ways to Reduce Cellulite

1. Eat Clean

Eating unprocessed, fiber-rich, alkaline foods can help you reduce cellulite. Clean Eating works by drawing toxins from your body and creating a healthier internal environment for fat-loss to occur. Consuming leafy green vegetables, healthy fats like salmon and beef, as well as grass-fed sources of protein will help your body burn fat while also detoxifying and regenerating your cells.

2. Hydrate your body

Hydrate your body on a cellular level by drinking purified water and add a squeeze of lemon for an alkaline boost! It’s very important to drink enough water when you’re reducing cellulite so your body can flush out excess toxins and reduce inflammation. Anytime your body has to work to reduce inflammation or digest poor food choices, the energy that could otherwise be put towards fat-burning and skin regeneration will be lost. Try having at least 2 liters of water per day, and make iced-herbal teas without sugar for a hydrating twist.

Pink Salt and Sea Salt Reduce Cellulite

3. Switch up your salt intake

If you’re still using regular white table salt, that’s one simple yet incredibly impactful change you can make today. Himalayan Pink Salt or Sea Salt are both better options that can actually give you a boost of minerals rather than causing a rise in blood pressure, inflammation, and puffiness. If you’re choosing a sea salt, look for a salt that appears to be a bit wet, and has a greyish tint; this means you’re getting lots of minerals! You can use this in all of your cooking.

4. Reduce Alcohol

Whenever I reduce my alcohol intake I notice a difference in my cellulite. As I mentioned, it is about balance and not perfection, but whenever I have a goal to reach, I seriously limit my intake and replace it with water and tea.

Sleep for Cellulite Reduce

5. Get enough sleep

Our bodies need sleep to regenerate, detoxify and heal. Studies have proven that poor sleep can cause major health issues and have a direct impact on our body weight. Sometimes cellulite can be a result of unhealthy lifestyle choices, so it’s worth it to include a consistent sleep routine when you’re creating a plan to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Skin Brushing Cellulite Reduction

6. Try skin brushing

Skin brushing can really work! It’s an old Ayurvedic practice where you use a dry-skin brush to brush your skin in circular motions towards your heart. This is supportive for your circulation and lymphatic system. Try skin-brushing before taking a shower in the morning, or before you hit the sauna. Dry-skin brushing alone won’t make your cellulite go away for good, but it can help to massage the areas where cellulite is bothering you and break up the fat just under the skin a little bit to create a more even look. Skin-brushing is also a wonderful detox practice, so try it out!

Saunas Detoxify

7. Hit the sauna

Sitting in a sauna for just 20 minutes per day can have a positive impact on your health and the appearance of cellulite. Saunas help to detoxify your body, balance your hormones, and encourage the production of aldosterone; which keeps your electrolytes balanced too! Deep sweating also improves skin-cell turnover and reduces inflammation.

8. Squats and Dead-Lifts

Both squats and dead-lifts encourage the production of testosterone and support hormonal balance. It might sound weird to consider boosting your testosterone, but this is an essential hormone in both men and women. As women, we have much less testosterone than men, but if we don’t have enough we’ll struggle to lose weight and build muscle. I’ve found that building muscle (which also burns fat) is a great way to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

9. Incorporate Detoxifying Fat Burning Foods Into Your Life

  • Chia seeds are powerful little detoxifiers. I LOVE making chia-seed pudding recipes like these Morning Breakfast Smoothie Bowls. They’re a source of omega 3 fats and can help the body flush out unwanted toxins, which is essential for reducing cellulite.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar is another little personal miracle of mine, and it can really help burn fat and alkalize the body. Here are 20 healthy ways to use apple cider vinegar.
  • Cucumber is a diuretic, hydrating and flushing the body. It’s excellent for your skin and helps to soothe inflammation as well. Simply add a few slices to your lemon water.
  • Green-Tea boosts metabolism, super-charging your body’s fat-burning potential. It can also reduce or prevent cellulite by breaking up fat cells and helps burn stored fat from the body.

10. Aztec Clay!

Seriously, I’ve talked about this stuff before and I totally love it. It’s so affordable and all you need to do is mix it with a bit of  Apple Cider Vinegar. Here’s the exact recipe I use, and you can put it on your thighs and bum too!

11. Self Acceptance!

Again, I want to leave you with this: you do not need to fix or change yourself to be beautiful. There are so many ways we’re bombarded by marketing that tells us we need to make ourselves look a certain way to be accepted or loved – but none of it is true. Even though I LOVE feeling and looking great, I always aim to make changes from a place of self-love, not self-criticism. As the Founder of CleanFoodCrush and Creator of the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge, I have helped thousands of women lose weight and feel better about their bodies, and I’ll continue to do so. I truly believe that beauty comes from within, and when we love ourselves we treat ourselves better. That often means we move towards a Clean Eating lifestyle and begin truly enjoying healthy foods that make us look and feel amazing!
