Is Soup Good For You?
Soup is good for you for many reasons, and I’m not just talking about for your health! Here are 5 great benefits of soup:
1. Soup Saves Time & Effort
Soups are effortless to make and don’t take a lot of time. Plus, they’re excellent for meal prepping, as they often taste better the next day, and they freeze really well. So, if you have a busy week ahead, make a massive batch of your favorite, stick it in the freezer, and save yourself a lot of time and hassle in the future.
2. Soup Has Nutritional Benefits
Besides cream-based soups, most are incredibly healthy and loaded with valuable vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. They’re also an effortless way to meet your daily vegetable goal and get fiber into your diet.

3. Soup Is Budget Friendly
Making soups and stews can save you a lot of money! You can use leftovers in the fridge and veggies that are about to go bad so they don’t go to waste or frozen produce, which is often cheaper.
4. Soup Is Both Hydrating & Filling
Soups are primarily liquid and often contain many ingredients high in water, such as bone broth, celery, or tomatoes. That makes them an incredibly hydrating food, which is especially important in the winter and colder months.
Soups are also satiating and, depending on the recipe, are filled with protein and a variety of ingredients. Soup is a high-volume food that fills your stomach more, so it’s a great filling meal.

5. Soup Can Boost Your Immune System
If your immune system needs a boost, then you should definitely add soup to your meal plan!
Thanks to the aforementioned nutrients, most soups are great at fighting common illnesses such as the cold or flu.
They’re loaded with powerful antioxidants that help boost the immune system, such as garlic, carrots, spinach, and turmeric. And as a bonus, hot soups can help soothe sore throats.

There are many reasons that I love to experiment with soup recipes and fill up a hot pot on the stove when the temperature starts decreasing. Over the years, I’ve come up with several recipes that I LOVE.
